The ADF has reportedly recorded its largest recruiting intake in 16 years, with 8,186 people joining across Army, Navy and Air Force during 2025–26.
That is encouraging news for anyone considering an ADF career—but it doesn’t mean candidates can afford to arrive unprepared.
You still need to:
Research your preferred roles
Understand the ADF Careers process
Prepare for aptitude testing and interviews
Build beyond the minimum fitness standard
Stay consistent while your application progresses
There are genuine opportunities across the ADF. The candidates who prepare early will be in the strongest position to take advantage of them.
What stage of the ADF Careers process are you currently at—and what are you finding most difficult?
